Life is different around here lately. Gone are the days of years long projects, messy kitchen tables, and all the books. SO many books. Good lord, so many books. The kids are now adults, legally at least, Hayden has turned 18, and that series in our lives has closed. Asa and I have happily left childhood in our rear view mirror.
Not because we didn't have an absolute blast soaking in every last minute childhood had to offer, but rather because we did. We're calling these years our 'Adventure Phase', because while you were all off traveling, partying, and living care free in your 20s, we were years into changing diapers, wiping sticky hands, making sticker charts, and reading bedtime stories. So, now it's our turn. Sure, of course we're still here for the 'kids'- parenting never really does end, it just morphs into a weird loop of listening, biting your tongue, and making sure everyone knows you'll always be a soft place to land- if need be. But we can do all that from a cruise ship! And, as a bonus, we still have adult kids living at our house, which means we have no trouble leaving the house, the pups, and the responsibilities to them. Also, we can now finally afford to do all the things we've wanted to do (within reason, and with all of our little side hustles and tricks of course).
Now, I would have kept going with the good old, tried and true Waterstraut Waterspout. It served me well for nearly 13 years. But pictures stopped uploading, and that was sad. I tried for months, eventually gave up and wrote some blogs without pictures- and have since figured out it is, in fact, a problem with the blog (either I've reached a limit, or something has gone awry). I decided to try adding a new blog and give that a go- and what do you know, it works just fine. And so, our new Adventuring Blog is born. Now, many of you read my blog for the kids, and while they will make appearances here (as they do in my life), this is more the me and Asa blog, the adventures we've been up to. Some months that may be a lot of adventures (in fact, we just had adventuring month, so stay tuned for that), and some months maybe not so many. But either way, if you want to keep up, feel free to subscribe to this blog!
Adventure is out there!
