By the time we hit the 20th of April, I think we had only been home like three days of April or something- it was kind of crazy. Between the cruise and then the two week long trip up north, we needed to rest and catch up on all the at home things. We had definitely been neglecting our friends and neighbors, so we had them over, took some trips to the pool, shared our central American liquor and a bunch of us went to the Alice in Wonderland themed brunch down at Main Ingredient, which was too cute. It was a whole brunch with a couple of teas and desserts. So fun. I'd totally do it again if the option came up.
Library events had also been missing us- Miles from the cruise ship showed up to chess club, I had a crafting class, and we hosted the very first Land O Lakes Plant Swap on the porch that went really well. We even had some neighbors come take part. Plus, Victoria gave us some dandelion plants, which Delano certainly appreciated.
Of course, our pups were so excited to have us home. They really missed us and their routines. But, we also missed everyone at the shelter, we'd barely walked anyone in the last month at this point. So, we went in to visit with them.
And then of course, there was the NFL Draft, which meant homemade pizzas inspired by the NFL team city's that were picking first in the draft. We ended up doing the first eight teams (over two nights), just so we could get the Tennessee pizza in there. It was funny because it was being held in Detroit, and we had just been in Michigan. One of these years we'll make it to a draft in person.
So, night one we had the Carolina Pulled Pork Pizza (Chicago had the pick but only because Carolina had traded it to them- Carolina was the one that actually earned the pick), the Washington cherry crumble pizza, the New England Clam Chowder pizza (weird to have that for a draft and not the playoffs), and the Arizona Fiesta pizza.
Night two we had LA Shrimp taco pizza for the chargers, the Giants coney dog pizza, the Titan's mashed potato and fried chicken pizza (SO GOOD) and Atlanta's peach cobbler pizza. We had leftovers for days!
Next up: So long April, Hello May!
